Acid Stain-This method is a combination of hydrochloric acid and metallic salts. When applied, they react with the Calcium hydroxide in the concrete. This application is very complicated and the surface must the properly prepared. We strip the sealer, apply a degreaser, apply stain prep, scrub, buff, apply TSP, rinse, dry, sand if necessary, apply two coats of acid, a neutralizer, and a sealant. It's a lengthy and complicated process. The concrete must have cured for at least 30 days, and be less than 10 years old in order for this method to work properly.
