At Done Right Tile and Flooring of West Palm, we can take care of your outdoor flooring needs. Whether you want pavers, tiles, stained concrete, or natural stone, we will have your outdoor space feeling like you stepped into a resort. Having a nice patio and pool deck is like adding another room to your house. It can also improve resale value and reduce time on the market. We live in South Florida, let's enjoy that beautiful weather.
The most important thing is to select a product rated for outdoor use. If you want to use tile, it should be porcelain, due to its water absorption rate. Water absorption rates are printed on boxes of tile. It's the number on the umbrella. You need a tile rated at 3% or less. The label on the box of tile that denotes water absorption is an umbrella. For an outdoor application, you should choose a vitreous or impervious tile. They have the least water absorption.
Another consideration is the coefficient of friction. That's basically a rating to determine how slippery a surface is when wet. For residential applications, you want 0.50 or above. We recommend 0.60 or above for the elderly, people with orthopedic and balance issues, ADA compliance, and commercial use. The label on tile boxes shows a human figure falling backward.
Natural stone is another option, it has a very high-end elegant look. Travertine and limestone are a very good choice for a pool deck. Both stay cool and hold up to stains well.
If you prefer concrete, it's now available in a variety of colors, textures, and patterns. We can do a simply overlay on your existing concrete, or do a fresh install. Concrete shaping can even mimic stone.
Pavers are made from a variety of materials from composite to concrete. The composite are made from post consumer waste, including recycled automobile tires and plastic containers. They are much lighter and easier to install. The permeable pavers are designed for a wet climate, handle runoff easily, resist mold and mildew, are slip resistant and ADA compliant. They are easy to install and are a great option for the South Florida climate. Whether concrete or composite, pavers are available in a myriad of colors and sizes. we can arrange them in any pattern you choose, even a custom one that you won't see anywhere else.
If you are selecting tile, natural stone, or pavers, the last thing is to determine the pattern you want. Would you like a pattern more uniform or random? You select the pattern and we'll install it. Just be aware that the more complex the pattern, the higher the installation cost.
Your budget and imagination are the only limits to what we can do for you. But rest assured, your project will be done right.
